It’s time to shut out the noise. There are many voices and sounds coming through in this season, but every voice and sound doesn’t deserve your attention. May we lay hold of the voice of God that resides from the depths of heaven!
God wants us to dwell in the deep. To dwell means to reside, occupy, or take residence. Special regard is needed in order to properly dwell in the deep. The season is up for standing in shallow water and looking at your feet on the sandy bottom. Choosing to exist in shallow water easily causes murkiness to happen as you walk around. However, when you begin to walk out into the deep, the water begins to clear up and its transformity allows access for you to see the foundation on which you were standing become deeper and more complex.
It’s impossible to be a shallow person and dwell in the deep. God is calling us deeper…to dwell in that place with Jesus, to encounter the Holy Spirit in all His richness of Glory! He is the Deep. On this planet, it’s impossible to build a foundation starting from top to bottom. Even an architect must clarify the blueprints to the builder, and the builder must put into action the plan for the workers to follow in order to bring forth the vision of the architect. Construction must and will happen. A foundation will be reconstructed if it is not strong enough to hold that which needs to be built. Depth is necessary when bringing forth the vision and building any viable foundation.
Shut out the unnecessary noise, take heed to God’s voice and instruction, linger deep in the nourishment of His love, and let Him strengthen you to build what’s needed of His Kingdom!
Oh Lord, satisfy us with your unfailing love! May we be like a well-watered garden or an ever-flowing spring! May we rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities! Let us be known as a rebuilder of walls and restorer of homes! (Isaiah 58:12 NLT).
