Be alert! Now is the time to heed the word of the Lord in this season. As mentioned in 1 Peter 5:8, your adversary the devil is lurking about seeking whom he can devour.

Years ago, while in transition, the Lord placed me in a cute studio apartment. That cute and very affordable studio apartment had roaches that occupied the entire building complex for generations. Because of the studio apartment’s position within the building complex, it was doomed to be inhabited by roaches. Remember, even creatures of this world are wise (Proverbs 30:24-28). Going into this situation required seeking the Lord for wisdom, fasting, and reaching out to prayer warriors.  The environment around me had grown complacent of these roaches even to the point of denying there was an issue.

It was the Holy Spirit that revealed where roaches were entering through specific cracks and gaps. I followed the Lord’s instruction and put silver duct tape over the cracks and had maintenance fill any gaps with foam.

At the end of my lease during the walk through, I removed one of the pieces of silver duct tape that closed off the roaches’ entryway. The manager that was there screamed when she saw the amount of roaches stuck to the opposite side of the silver duct tape.

When you trust the Lord and He sends you to a location, He will do what He promises. Those roaches didn’t belong in my dwelling place. When our lives are submitted unto the Lord, He promises us peace and protection. Those promises came true as I yielded myself unto the Lord.

The roaches knew how to maneuver through that building and enter into my studio apartment. How much more can God do for those that have given their life to Him?  He’s the ultimate Creator! He’s waiting for us to seek Him. The adult roaches taught the baby roaches how to survive. It’s way bigger than us…it’s about generations knowing the Lord!

Just as the roaches had caused an infestation for many years, it’s similar to sin in our lives as godly people. If we don’t choose to confess our sins unto the Lord, eventually our very body and dwelling place can become overtaken by darkness. Stagnancy, devastation, and death can occur if we are not properly maintaining our lives unto the Lord.

Galatians 6:7-8 (ESV) states, 7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

There’s safety in confessing your sins to a God that loves you. He will never fail you nor leave you.

May Psalm 32 give you comfort and strength in your confession.

Psalm 32 (NLT)

A Psalm  of David.

1
Oh, what joy for those
    whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight!
2
Yes, what joy for those
whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt,
whose lives are lived in complete honesty!
3
When I refused to confess my sin,
    my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long.
4
Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me.
My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.
5
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.

6
Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time,
that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.
7
For you are my hiding place;
    you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. Interlude
8
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.
9
Do not be like a senseless horse or mule
that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”
10
Many sorrows come to the wicked,
but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the Lord.
11
So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him!
Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!
